Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a California Vehicle Accident

The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in the state of California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The influential video game developer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This represents a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, his family, and all those touched by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
