Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Launches Tomorrow as a Free-to-Play Offering
After a long period of rumors, the BR game type for Battlefield 6 is at last releasing. Last week's rumors suggesting its arrival would happen alongside the new season were spot-on. Players can dive into the mode starting tomorrow.
Launch Season Adding a Fresh Location, Game Type, and Arsenal
Alongside the battle royale mode, the new season is also starting. This introduces a new map, a new mode, and new weapons. On top of that, this new sector is being introduced. An embedded preview will go live at release, providing players a taste of what's to come.
Complimentary Structure Allows the Mode Available to All
Possibly the key announcement is that Battlefield Redsec will be F2P. In the vein of popular games, you don't have to purchase the base game to play. A number of participants have already tested pre-release builds of the experience. Those tests were run in a testing environment, which the developers described as their biggest community collaboration project.
The intense thrill when facing another squad is unmatched in any other last-man-standing mode. It seems do or die, and you genuinely worry if you live or perish.
Despite being a snob beforehand, I'm now supportive of the BR mode since trying it.
These first impressions from participants have been extremely encouraging. Naturally, the mode may have been adjusted over the last few weeks in terms of tuning and tempo. But, first impressions are strong that Redsec could emerge as a true alternative to established titles. Many are expecting that the most effective firearms from the original Battlefield 6 will also apply in the BR.
